LOTS TO SEE AND DO
On
the Pocillos Beach there is a tiled area to celebrate peace in the
nations which is wonderful to experiment with bikes and has periodic
events with music and seasonal goods.
A wide safe promenade along the coast stretches 8 kms through Arrecife towards Costa Teguise and makes an ideal venue for family bike rides. There are lots of cafes and restaurants on the way and a very good shopping centre in Arrecife which is mainly pedestrianised.
Also in Arrecife is the castle which was
built early in the 15th century when the Spanish first took charge of
the island.
Teguise is another old town of great interest.
Various boat trips are available from Puerto
del Carmen harbour. There are trips to Fuertoventura and to the
Papagyuayo beaches lasting a day or one hour trips in glass bottomed
boats to see the fish. Submarines are available for the more venturous.
Windsurfing is available at several points
on the island depending on your standard. Experience the Segway at
Costa Teguise. Marvellous!
